Why I chose this
:

Along with Sticky Fingers, this is my favourite Rolling Stones album. It still has that early 60s pop feel to it, but also displays the radiant talents of the band to produce an artistic masterpiece. Brian Jones is at his musical supreme, with multiple contributions on each song through a variety of instruments, proving why he is a legend of rock n roll. The chemistry between Mick and Keith is displayed not only in their song writing, but in the dynamic that they add to the group and to these songs. I haven't heard this album as much as the Stones later works (namely Beggars Banquet through to Exile on Main St.) but there is nothing quite like laying back and letting Brian Jones and Keith Richards duel their guitars for the prize of my heart.

  1. I have never really gotten into the Stones, although I have enjoyed Their Satanic Majesties Request when I listen to it.

On my second listen of this album now. It has that catchy 60s feel and the Stones' unique sound. Good choice amigo, looking forward to giving it a few more spins

  2. Heard it twice so far. Some pretty sweet tracks on this, some most definitely stand out more than others (why does my copy have Ruby Tuesday?). I like it.
Oh and I love the way it ends.

  3. My copy has Ruby Tuesday as well, that's the American version - I personally like that track listing better. If you like this album listen to their later stuff, Sticky Fingers or Beggars Banquet - great music.

  4. Yeah Ruby Tuesday and Let's Spend the Night Together are on the American tracklist. I think cos the Americans liked to have the singles on the albums whereas in Britain not so much.

Cool calm collected is probably my favourite

This album defo got me over the hump of wanting to listen to the Stones. Just needed a bit of a push and some patience which is what AotW is about. Think I might go for Beggars Banquet next.

  5. Also I noticed how the cover has no band or album name on the cover which is cool. Also the buttons on the front guy's jacket (Im gonna guess its Brian Jones) are all lit up

    clever stuff

  6. That's awesome, glad AotW can help. Yeah I've always seen those buttons but never put two and two together (and it's Charlie Watts, the drummer. Jones is in the middle)
